Chris Cartwright who was previously the senior pastor of City Temple Elim church in Cardiff is to be the next General Superintendent of the Elim Pentecostal Church.

Following nomination by Elim's National Leadership Team and a subsequent postal ballot by the Elim Conference, Chris Cartwright has been elected to lead the Movement as General Superintendent. He will assume his role at the forthcoming Elim Leaders Summit in May.

Chris began his ministry in the late 1980's at Kensington Temple where he was respectively Worship Pastor, Director of the IBIOL and Associate Minister. He was ordained in 1993.

In 1997, Chris became the senior pastor of the City Temple in Cardiff, and in 2010 he became the Regional Leader for Wales and the Southern Region. He is married to Annie and they have three children.

Current General Superintendent, John Glass, commenting on the election said, "Chris is a high integrity spiritual leader, and he and Annie can be assured of my continual prayers, warmest wishes and fullest support as they seek to take Elim into everything that God has for our Movement in the years that lie ahead."

For the fourth year running Cardiff City Temple has taken a team to Macedonia to work with Elim Churches there as they celebrate Christmas on 7th January.

Macedonia which follows an Orthodox Calendar celebrates Christmas in January and the City Temple have sent teams to work with the church in Stip and help them reach out to many local people in word and deed. This year the team of 14 was involved in open airs, Christmas services and a special "Blood Donor" meal as well as visits to Delchavo and Veles with pastor Angel and his team and then other team member worked with Pastor Zoki in the capital city Skopje where another church plant is taking place.

Pastor Steve who led the team for City Temple said:
"It is an amazing privilege to be able to serve the church in Macedonia. Over the 4 years we have been visiting we have seen the central church in Stip plant churches in Delachavo, Veles and Skopje. Pastor Angel and Pastor Zoki and their families are working so hard to reach the people of Macedonia with the love of Jesus. We are just thankful that we can work alongside the church in helping them work towards their goal."

Young and old from all over the region gathered for a great celebration together at the the Elim Centenary Celebration in St David's.

The worship led by a team taken from across a number of Elim churches and a choir certainly helped to take the worship to the next level. The mixture of songs old and new help the 1500 who gathered to encounter God and be reminded that he is the same yesterday, today and forever. A short drama presentation told the story of Elim over the last 100 years and as part of the worship people shared there cardboard memories from the present to the past taking us back as far as 1929 when George Jeffreys visited Cardiff a the Cory Hall.

Pastor John Glass. Elim National Leader, shared from his heart to those gathered about how God has used Elim in the past and has a plan for the future. Others gave contributions throughout the evening and God challenged many of those present.

It was good to celebrate Elim's part but it was great to look forward to an exciting future.
